Candles?

There have been many times where candles have been mentioned in The Girl Who Owned a City.  There was the story Lisa told Todd about the candle factory (page 40), there is also the candle in her tower in Glenbard (page 137).  Do you think candles and light have a special meaning in this story?  Why or why not?

    I think candles and light have a special meaning because if we did not have light and candles we could not see any thing till day.

    I think candles and light have a special meaning because there is no power so they can't see in the dark when they're discussing the problems about Glenbard and it keeps them warm.

    I think it means that when they have light they have hope because they have one in there meeting room and that's where they make there important meetings. So it gives them isporation

    I think it has a special meaning because when Lisa tells Todd a story it is normally means it is special.

    I think it has a special meaning because they have no electricity to have light. Also Lisa told Todd a story of a candle factory.

    I think candles and light don't have a special meaning because any one can use candles in a story or in a dark tower
